Editorial policy
Southern Theatre Guide aims to make theatre easier to examine, not to make every judgement sound certain. We explain our reasoning, distinguish fact from opinion and correct material errors openly.
Accuracy and judgement
We check factual statements against material available to us and take care not to present interpretation as fact. Reviews and analysis involve judgement; we make the basis of that judgement clear and avoid implying that one response represents every audience member. We do not claim first-hand attendance or access unless it is explicitly established in the article.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a favour to a venue, producer, publisher or other partner. A contribution or collaboration does not guarantee coverage, a positive view or editorial approval. Where a relationship could reasonably affect how material is read, we disclose it clearly.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the issue. We review correction requests, update material when warranted and make significant corrections clear to readers. We do not quietly change an opinion simply because someone disagrees with it.
Paid material and illustrations
Paid placements and partner material are identified so readers can distinguish them from editorial coverage. Commercial relationships do not buy favourable editorial treatment. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is the case, the image is labelled, and it is not presented as documentary evidence of a real performance or person.
